Date: Jan 29, 2026

Location: SLC-40, Cape Canaveral SFS, Florida, USA

Launch Time: 11:00 PM EDT

Mission Type: Communications – Starlink broadband constellation deployment

Mission Overview & Payload Insight

The Starlink Group 17-30 mission will deploy another batch of Starlink V2-mini satellites into low Earth orbit as part of SpaceX’s expanding second-generation constellation. These satellites are optimized to increase overall network capacity, enhance resiliency, and reduce latency as Starlink scales global service.

Key payload characteristics include:

  • High-throughput phased-array antennas with dynamic beam steering

  • Electric propulsion (Hall-effect thrusters) for efficient orbit raising, station-keeping, and collision avoidance

  • Improved constellation density, supporting higher data rates and redundancy

  • Potential inclusion of Direct-to-Cell capability, enabling future satellite-to-mobile connectivity in areas without terrestrial coverage

After stage separation, the Falcon 9 first stage is expected to attempt recovery on an Autonomous Spaceport Drone Ship (ASDS) in the Atlantic Ocean, continuing SpaceX’s high-cadence reusable launch operations.

Visitor & Viewing Tips
